How we started

We’re a family business on a mission to improve the health of the planet. One person at a time.

A personal blog from our Co-Founders.

It’s hard to believe we started Nuzest over ten years ago. A lot has happened in that time, but our roots of family and health remain, and always will. Our mission to make a difference to people’s lives and the health of the planet we live on is stronger than ever. We’re excited to share our journey here with you about how it all began and what’s to come as we venture into our next decade in business.

How it all started back in 2005

We all take good health for granted until something happens that makes us rethink how precious it is. For our family, it was a life-changing event in 2005 when my only daughter, Monique, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an incurable disease of the central nervous system. Unsatisfied with the bleak prognosis and determined to help Monique live her best life, we traveled the world in search of answers, looking to alternative health and nutrition.

The best advice was the simplest; a balanced lifestyle and good nutrition are critical.

Together with a team of global health experts, we developed a nutritional platform based on efficacy without compromise, bringing together the best of nutritional science and natural medicine.

Nuzest products are now available in over 25 countries and counting, and are supported by world-class athletes, health practitioners, and loyal customers all over the world.

Our products

Nuzest’s flagship products include:

The values we uphold

Quality nutrition

Quality is in our DNA. Independent health professionals and nutritional scientists are consulted to formulate our products, using the best nature and science have to offer. Good Green Vitality and Kids Good Stuff are both manufactured in New Zealand. Their complex, science-led formulations mean ingredients are sourced from all over the world to ensure that we always use the best without compromise. We use GMP-certified contract manufacturers to make our products and undertake HACCP certification ourselves to ensure quality at every point.

Rigorous testing

To make sure finished products are safe and allergen-friendly there is a robust testing regime. Nuzest products don’t graduate to packaging until they pass all their tests. Regular testing is carried out on the finished product to ensure no cross-contamination has occurred. All our powdered products are tested for safe microbial activity and are allergen friendly (gluten, dairy, soy). Due to the prevalence of peanut allergies in children, we specifically test Kids Good Stuff for peanuts also.

Caring for the environment

One of the key values for Nuzest is to ‘do right by the planet’. Our main ingredient in Clean Lean Protein is the humble golden pea, grown in Northern France - an area which is known for its quality soils, clean environment, and sustainable practices. It is then processed in Belgium by a private family business who are renowned for their low carbon footprint and 100% sustainable processing facility.

Each step of the manufacturing process has good intentions for both consumers and the earth. To isolate the protein from the pea, we use a patented water-based isolation process that doesn’t use any solvents, chemicals or high temperatures. The process ensures the removal of anti-nutrients like phytic acid, lectins, and trypsin inhibitors, making the resulting protein highly available and digestible. The protein is then flavored, blended, and packed in Australia, UK and USA (depending on the intended sales region).

With sustainability top of mind, we are in the process of reviewing our packaging. Currently we use HDPE plastic tubs which are 100% recyclable and the safest containers for food to maintain shelf-life and integrity. Plastic is a sticky issue though and we are evaluating best alternatives. There are promising developments in compostable packaging that may provide us with a more sustainable solution for many of our products. A transition plan is already in motion.

Giving back to the community

As a company, Nuzest donates a portion of global sales to help fund vital MS research, as well as supporting causes around the world ranging from Cure Cancer to the Zambi Wildlife Foundation, believing it’s important for the well-being of society that those more fortunate give back to those in need.

What’s next for Nuzest?

Whilst we have a strong presence in the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia, our plan is to continue expanding into new regions around the globe.

We also continue to review and revise our formulae to ensure products are up to date with the very latest in nutritional science, and with exciting plans for new product releases in development, watch this space!

We are family

Finally, with integrity and care at the core of everything we do, we can’t wait to make a positive difference to more people’s lives. To those of you that already choose us to support your health and wellbeing, THANK YOU. It’s a pleasure to have you in the Nuzest family.
